Today is the first day of NaNoWriMo. Despite working 9 hours today, I began anyway. The first 3,378 words are in the bag.
By the way, I should note that in order to get 50,000 words in 30 days, you need to average 1,667 words per day. As a result, I have just over two days done now. Which means I could take a break for a day…but if I do that, I probably won’t start back up!
Besides, this book will be longer than 50,000 words anyway. How much longer I’m not sure. But it’s got potential now, and it’ll be fun seeing where it goes.

w00t! Go, dudz0r!
I’m 2500 words in myself… (might be close to 3000 now… haven’t checked the word count since starting this morning) Like you, though, mine are always more than 50K
Meet ya at the finish line. ;-)

Well I don’t ALWAYS get more than 50K. Actually, Public Transit and Lisa are both just barely 50,000 words (and Public Transit wasn’t 50K for the longest time).
But of the 5 novels I have completed, I average 71,766 words. That’s probably about where this one will end up…although I could go all Stephen King in it and bloat it out for good! :-D
