That’s right, a 14-year-old fruitcake said on her MySpace account to “Kill Bush.”  For some strange reason, the Secret Service investigated it (thus, obviously trampling the rights of someone who has committed a federal crime).

Now her parents are upset.

“I don’t condone what she did, but it seems a little over the top to me,” said Julia’s father, Jim Moose. “You’d think they could look at the situation and determine that she’s not a credible threat.”

Gee, Jim, do you think maybe that’s why the Secret Service showed up?  To see if it was a credible threat?  Oh wait, I know.  The Secret Service should have been wiretapping her phone to know she wasn’t serious.  Or better yet, maybe they should have just asked Madame Cleo….

But that’s not all! ”The couple are disturbed, however, that federal agents questioned a child at school — without her parents present.”

I actually agree with this part.  The parents should have been present.  However, imagine if she had gone to an abortion clinic instead.  Oh, in that case parents don’t need to be notified.  Because you know words are so much more dangerous than actually killing someone.  Parents need to be there if their child says something stupid, but not if they’re going to kill an unborn child.  Yeah….

“I told them I just really don’t agree with Bush’s politics,” Julia said Thursday. “I don’t have any plans of harming Bush in any way. I’m very peaceful; I just don’t like Bush.”

Yes, peaceful people always talk about killing the people they don’t like.

But at least there is one thing I agree with her on:  “She deleted the group page over the summer when she decided that MySpace was juvenile and taking up too much time.”
