Pet Peeve

I just read this (original link: http://www.examiner.com/a-127924~Schools_up_security_for_6_6_06.html) and a line at the bottom caught my attention:

The number 666 is said to be the number of the Antichrist written of in the biblical book of Revelation.

The term “antichrist” apperas exactly ZERO times in the book of Revelation!  The number 666 refers to the number of “a man” who is the “beast” (which, IMO, is Nero anyway).  The term “antichrist” comes from the epistles of John, where it does not refer to the antichrist, but several antichrists (plural).

Thus, there is no such thing as “the” Antichrist, and the book of Revelation has nothing to do with any such fictional character.

The Christian cult of eschatology needs to get a clue.

Alas, they will continue to publish Left Behind instead.
